Technical lead - Search system

About Role

We are seeking a tech lead (junior EM) to lead one or more of systems / infrastructure heavy teams like ingestion or search core index - This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art infrastructure platform that forms the core of our search technology. You will own the charter for designing and scaling systems that handle ingestion or search indexing or serving results for Flipkart search. You will be responsible for building infrastructure to support large-scale machine learning models, scaling semantic search and embedding-based models, and ensuring high availability and low latency in delivering search results at a large scale. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, product managers, and analysts to develop and deploy mission-critical projects. Responsibilities :

Manage and coach the engineering team to own significant part of search infrastructure

Participate in building the long term strategy and blueprint for the team

Develop and manage standards for deliverables with focus on scalability, high availability and performance

Drive architectural decisions and tradeoffs and deliver with speediness and quality

Collaborate with stakeholders across functional boundaries and drive alignment.

Be a guide and mentor to the team and drive the culture of innovation and accountability

Own the key functional and non-functional metrics for the team.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

8+ years of total experience and 6+ months of experience of managing a team

Deep understanding of developing and maintaining high scale distributed systems with knowledge of sync and async architectures

Strong communication and analytical skills

Past experience of working in fields related to information retrieval is highly desirable
