Position summary :
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying potential customers & suppliers, generating new business opportunities and maintaining existing client relationships to achieve targets
The role will be responsible for sales of Recyclables (Paper, Plastics & Metals) into India. The role will also be responsible for developing & implementing buying / trading opportunities in India for
export to maximize profitable trades across key competitive regions. This position requires the incumbent to professionally perform duties in a methodical & efficient manner, to
- have the capability to act effectively & decisively with a level of autonomy & initiative;
within guidelines set out with the Head of Sales and within company guidelines
Key responsibilities :
What are the primary responsibilities of the role?
Sales of Recyclables (Paper, Plastics & Metals) into IndiaWork closely with internal businesses to understand products and volumes available for saleDevelop & explore new market / customer opportunities to support the dynamic needs & aggressive growth plans of the businessMaintain excellent relationships with customers and conduct frequent sales calls on customers & prospectsNegotiate sales contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure best value.Actively promote & implement market diversification strategy by developing a larger customer / supplier base in IndiaDrive profitable growth of the business and seize opportunities in current products sales expansion or new product development through continual review & assessment of the markets in IndiaWork with the Credit team to ensure all shipments are covered by a valid payment mode in line with credit policies in time to meet the operational requirements of the businessWork with management on payment terms exceptions and approvalsEnsure customers pay within the required terms & conditions, assist Credit team with cash collection as necessary and help maintain a clean customer debtors’ ledgerProactively manage quality issues and conduct quality review process in line with Visy policies and guidelines, including performing quality audits at customers / suppliers’ sitesDealing with all queries in a prompt manner, in a timeframe agreed with the customers and internal stakeholdersThe facilitation of cross training to allow flexibility & continuation of the function during absenceEnsuring the resolution of any issues in a timely & efficient manner and any procedural changes required as a result of this to be documented & communicatedCompliance with all statutory & legal obligations Developing & implementing buying / trading opportunities in India for exportEngage in research and in executing profitable new buying opportunities for export from India to key competitive marketsNegotiate purchase contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure best value.Work with Accounts Payable team to ensure all purchases are covered by valid payment terms with suppliersWork with management on payment terms exceptions and approvalsEnsure suppliers deliver goods within the required terms and conditions Market AnalysisEngage in market analysis to execute profitable trades across key competitive regionsProvide regular market intelligence and competitor analysisDemonstrate significant market knowledge & possess a comprehensive real time understanding of current commodity markets and educate wider business as necessary Budgets, Forecasting & Business PlanningWork closely with Finance / Accounting team to ensure complete ownership & understanding of business profitability numbers. This includes contributing substantially to the annual budgeting process, accurate weekly / monthly forecasting & review of reports Document Control & GovernanceEnsure completeness of Visy required compliance documents and sales / purchase contracts from customers / supplierCreation and maintenance of :
