Job description

AXA XL Investments manages approx. Euro 41 billion of investment portfolio. AXA XL Investment has three strategic locations for its operations. New York, Bermuda, and India.Investment Operations is responsible for maintaining a high degree of data integrity, multiple system maintenance, and high-end reporting delivery along with other operational tasks for AXA XL Investment Management. Consumers of this data include other Investment teams like Allocations, Investment reporting and Compliance ALM and Risk management.The Data Integrity Team is a part of Global Investment Operations Group, It is a dedicated group of professionals who ensure that all AXA XL cash & positions data are accurate for critical processes including investment management, analytics, compliance, and regulatory reporting. Cash & Position types include, but are not limited to, equities, Allocation, OTC derivative positions (swaps, swaptions, FXs, and) and collateral. The roles and responsibilities will include actively executing data validation controls and related reconciliations by ensuring the Investment book of record is reconciled with the custodian, manager. The position will be responsible for carrying out other controls including some specific to cash, position reconciliations and exception management processes ensuring that AXA XL Portfolio data is in line with custodians, counterparties, and other prime record holders every day. The team member will liaise with data vendors, other internal investment functions like Allocation, Risk and Strategy team, Investment Accounting and Treasury to resolve data related issues. This will be an individual contributor role, so we are looking for a self-driven motivated individual. Your primary upward interaction will be with a direct supervisor or team lead and other Investment Functions across various geographical locations. In this role, you need to analyze and solve moderately complex problems.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Execute monthly CRDB (Concentration Risk Database) which is a risk view of our current holdings, self-directedly able to run the associated controls, reconciliation and support Internal Audit requirements.
  • Review and analyze reference data attributes of Fixed Income Bonds (ABS, MBS, Corporate Bonds Term loans, Sovereign Bonds), Listed Equity, Private Credit and Private Equity and work with data vendor & accounting team to record accurate data points across systems.
  • Maintain and create Data model, data flows and provide end-to-end solution and processes.
  • Identify defects in data and ensure they are logged appropriately and work with relevant teams to ensure resolution.
  • Collect and liaise for new data requirements for internal and external reporting, including various regulatory reporting’s like BSCR and Solv II.
  • Collaborate across various internal teams like Allocations, Risk, Reporting and external vendors, Custodian, other data providers.
  • Leverage Power query / Power BI to automate manual process and controls.
  • Handle data related queries self-directedly and troubleshoot to provide desired solution and actively participate in new controls development.
  • Perform system to system reconciliation across systems to ensure data consistency.
  • Communicate effectively across the ladder when discussing the data issues and addressing the adhoc queries received from other teams.
  • Perform other duties as and when assigned by the manager and help manager achieve the desired goal for a period.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills :

Required Skills and Abilities :

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in finance / computer.
  • Experience of relevant years in back-office operations in data analysis in financial services industry.
  • Outstanding working knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI, Power query MS Word & PowerPoint.
  • Proven knowledge about capital market and Investment instruments with the respect to global financial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills required to interact with internal colleagues and external vendors to resolve queries or completing a task in hand.
  • Must have excellent analytical skill with technical bent of mind, ability to understand and work with data, including creating alignment among various data sources.
  • Good understanding of data management processes including like defining Data validations rules, Data exceptions monitoring and handling.
  • Prior experience in working on systems like Bloomberg would be an advantage.
  • Desired Skills and Abilities :

  • CFA / FRM (Level -1) preferable (not mandatory).
  • Requires minimal supervision and able to work self-directedly to complete the given task and proactively reach out to respective team to seek solutions when required.
  • Any work experience of VBA / SQL (basic or advanced) would be preferable.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of Data.
  • The collective player with the ability to engage with multiple teams in a large organization.
