The successful candidate will join the Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles Engineering (MSEN) Design team to provide production and field support for our Geared Turbo Fan and Operational Commercial engines. This could include components such as mounting, tube routings, brackets, support structures, bearing compartment support structures etc
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones.
- Collaboration with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Understand technical processes and design requirements of gas turbine hardware.
- Learn and apply sophisticated solid modeling and analysis tools in a highly proficient manner.
- Utilize standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and other tools to continuously improve design processes.
- Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.
- Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics.
Basic Qualifications :
Master s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 6+ years of prior relevant experience.Or Bachelor s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of prior relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in design of tube, bracket and mountingsExperience in gas turbine field especially in engine externals / configurationsHigh proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP is desired.Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected.Communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess.Experienced in Siemens tools such as NX, Team Center,Latest GDT and its application on CAD modelsASME standards such as ASME Y14.5 - 2018, ASME Y14.41 - 2019 and other industry standards.Proficiency in analysis tools such as ANSYS APDL and workbench.Automated design optimization skills are a plus.Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Broad understanding of hardware, drawings and manufacturing methods.Green / Black Belt six sigma certification is also a plus.Additional Requirements :
