EHR / PM Data Migration Specialist (Back-End Systems)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled EHR / PM Data Migration Specialist (Back-End Systems) with deep technical experience in eClinicalWorks (eCW) and AdvancedMD. This role focuses on the back-end architecture, data integrity, and system integrations involved in migrating healthcare organizations from legacy platforms to modern systems. You will act as the technical lead for database mapping, ETL processes, and validation to ensure seamless and secure transitions.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Planning & Analysis

Analyze legacy data structures and develop detailed data-mapping documentation.

Design and manage end-to-end migration plans, including milestones, risk assessments, and validation checkpoints.

Collaborate with leadership and IT teams to align system configurations and database schemas.

Technical Migration Execution

Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using SQL scripts, APIs, or migration tools.

Perform advanced data validation, error tracking, and reconciliation across systems.

Identify and resolve back-end issues such as data corruption, mismatched fields, or failed imports.

Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to optimize performance and automation.

Maintain detailed technical documentation for repeatable and scalable processes.

Required Qualifications

Proven technical experience with eClinicalWorks and AdvancedMD (database-level understanding preferred).

Strong background in data management, ETL, and system integrations.

Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and healthcare data formats (CSV, HL7, FHIR, etc.).

Understanding of healthcare operations and billing data structures (no direct patient interaction).

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience leading large-scale EHR / PM migrations or integrations.

Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, API integrations, and automation frameworks.

Certification or experience in data management or change management.

Exposure to scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) or data visualization tools.
