Role Summary :

We are looking for a Data Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and performance of our GCP BigQuery-based Data Lake, Data Hub and Data Warehouse. This role will be responsible for validating real time data pipeline outputs, ETL\ELT processes outputs, APIs testing and business reports through both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API Services testing and MDM data validation, SQL skills, experience in GCP components including Big Query & Spanner DB, JSON data validation and handling, data quality testing and the ability to write Python scripts for test automation.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Quality Testing & Validation :

  • Develop and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts for data validation based on the business requirements / Data Products requirements.
  • Focus on 100% coverage of functional test cases
  • Align Test Scenarios & Cases with overall test strategy / Plan, if applicable
  • Interpret source to target mapping documents for understanding the business logic
  • Execute functional, regression, and performance testing of data pipelines and transformations
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across various sources.
  • Perform data reconciliation between source and target systems to identify discrepancies.

Test Automation & Scripting :

  • Write Python scripts and SQL queries to automate data validation and reconciliation.
  • Utilize data testing frameworks for automation.
  • Work with engineers to integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines.
  • Develop anomaly detection scripts to monitor data integrity.

    • Collaboration & Defect Management :

  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and data product teams to understand data requirements. Identify, log, and track data quality issues and defects using defect management tools.

    • Ascension

  • Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of data-related issues.
  • Communicate test results and data quality metrics to stakeholders.
  • Analyze defects reported during UAT and identify root cause to avoid recurrence.

    • Required Skills :

  • 3-5 years of experience in data testing, ETL / ELT, API services testing, validate real-time data.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and validating large datasets in BigQuery, comfortable validating data in JSON schema, and XML format.
  • Experience and proficiency with MDM concepts and data validation techniques required for
  • Match\Merge\Survivor Testing.
  • Experience with Python scripting for data testing automation.
  • Hands-on experience with data quality testing tools and frameworks.
  • Experience in GCP - BigQuery, Spanner DB and
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for debugging data issues.
  • Experience in validating semi structured & unstructured data.

    • Skills Preferred :

  • Experience in healthcare data platforms and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA) will be a Plus
  • Experience with data observability tools and anomaly detection techniques.
  • Familiarity with Collibra Data Quality or other metadata / data governance tools.
