Job Purpose :
To lead and manage the overall quality function in line with corporate objectives and customer requirements, ensuring that all products and processes meet the highest automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and OEM-specific requirements). The Quality Head is responsible for developing and maintaining robust quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring zero-defect deliveries to customers.
Responsibilities
1. Quality Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement the organization's quality strategy, policies, and objectives aligned with business goals.
- Lead the Quality department — including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and Customer Quality.
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
2. System & Compliance Management
Ensure compliance withIATF 16949
ISO 9001
, and customer-specific requirements.
Lead internal and external audits (OEM, third-party, and customer).Maintain and improve quality management systems, documentation, and traceability.Manage PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plan documentation.3. Product & Process Quality
Oversee in-process and final inspection activities to ensure product conformity.Establish and monitor key quality KPIs (rejection rate, customer PPM, cost of poor quality, etc.).Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.).Coordinate cross-functional problem-solving teams for process and product issues.4. Supplier Quality Management
Develop and monitor supplier quality performance and improvement programs.Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality standards.Support supplier development and localization initiatives.5. Customer Quality & Liaison
Act as the primary interface with OEM and Tier-1 customers for all quality-related matters.Manage customer complaints, warranty claims, and field quality issues.Drive customer satisfaction through proactive quality planning and communication.6. People Management & Development
Lead, train, and mentor the quality team to build capability and technical expertise.Develop succession plans and strengthen the quality function across shifts and plants.7. Continuous Improvement
Implement quality improvement projects usingLean
Six Sigma

Kaizen
methodologies.
Reduce internal and external rejection rates, rework, and warranty costs.Qualifications
Education :Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Industrial / Production Engineering.
Experience :Minimum
08–12 years
of experience in Quality Assurance / Control within the automotive manufacturing industry (preferably Tier-1 supplier or OEM).
Certifications (Preferred) :Certified Lead Auditor – IATF 16949 / ISO 9001Exposure to Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
