Job Title : Assistant Manager - Accounts

Location : Agatsu Community Centre, Bandra Mumbai

Employment Type : Full-Time in-person (Tuesday to Saturday 10 am to 6 pm)

Reports to : Head of Operations & Finance

Over the past three years, we’ve built a holistic approach that combines community programs, suicide prevention initiatives, affordable therapy, and peer support. We also create and provide accessible resources to make mental health conversations easier and more informed. Through these efforts, Agatsu works to make mental health care more inclusive, approachable, and affordable.

Role Overview :

This role involves maintaining books of accounts, preparing financial reports, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with donor, statutory, and internal requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethical, and organized, with strong analytical skills and a commitment to accountability. They help translate financial data into insights that enable better program and resource decisions.

In this role, the accountant ensures that every rupee is tracked responsibly and contributes to advancing the organization’s impact.

Key responsibilities :

1. Recording income and expenses

  • Ensuring payment runs for Vendor Payments and Payroll
  • Posting all entries in Tally and maintaining supporting workings in MS Office & Excel where required.
  • Creating and filing all vouchers.

2. Preparing financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)

  • Assist in the annual budgeting exercise
  • Monitoring Financial Performance and funding requirements and reporting the same on a monthly basis.
  • 3. Managing audits and tax filings

  • Liaison with banks, legal team, CA firm & auditors
  • 4. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and laws – including, but not limited to, Companies Act, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, CSR and GST where applicable.

  • Staying informed about changes in accounting regulations and government circulars and best
  • practices for Non-Profit Organisations and ensure compliance within the organization.

    5. Monitoring day-to-day financial data

  • Track bank statements and prepare bank reconciliation statements
  • Ensure all aspects of Accounts payable and Vendor Management are done, including coordination with Vendors like IT Vendor and all service providers.
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide support on matters involving financial impact and processes like generating and recording donation and therapy receipts.
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelors Degree in Commerce
  • Minimum one year experience or more in a similar role. -
  • Proficient in using accounting software like Tally, and spreadsheet programs like Microsoft Excel

  • Salary :

  • Rs 45,000 per month.
  • Additional benefits of Therapy reimbursement upto Rs 6000 per month for personal therapy.
