Senior Data Engineer – Azure Data Factory / Data Pipelines

Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer – Azure Data Factory (ADF) will architect, design, and deliver enterprise-scale data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. This role will focus on building modern, automated data workflows using ADF, ensuring speed, reliability, and scalability. The ideal candidate will combine strong cloud engineering expertise with a delivery mindset to accelerate data modernization. This position is based in Hyderabad, India.

Principal Responsibilities

Architect and build robust, scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.

Modernize and migrate legacy SSIS / SSRS workloads into ADF-based pipelines.

Implement pipeline orchestration, automation, and monitoring.

Integrate diverse data sources (structured, semi-structured, APIs, streaming).

Ensure best practices in security, compliance, and performance optimization.

Collaborate with analytics and BI teams to deliver timely, trusted data for decision-making.

Adopt iterative, agile delivery models for faster business value realization.

Mentor junior engineers on ADF best practices and DevOps automation.

Provide production support and resolve performance bottlenecks in pipelines.

Qualifications

Advanced expertise in Azure Data Factory pipeline design and orchestration.

Strong experience with SQL Server, Synapse, and cloud data services.

Familiarity with Snowflake, Power BI, and other Azure-native data tools.

Knowledge of CI / CD practices, Git-based workflow, and DevOps for data pipelines.

Experience in legacy ETL modernization (SSIS to ADF migration).

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

7–10 years of experience in enterprise ETL / data engineering, with 3+ years in Azure Data Factory.

Strong knowledge of the Azure ecosystem and modern data integration techniques.
