Role Objective :
The key objective of this position is to lead and manage the intraocular lens (IOL) assembly operations to ensure consistent achievement of production, quality, and delivery targets. The role focuses on optimizing production performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent will lead a team of supervisors and operators to ensure operational excellence and efficiency across the assembly unit.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations, preferably in medical devices or high-precision plastic components.
- Proven track record in achieving production KPIs and operational targets.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA QSR or equivalent quality management systems.
- Experience in people management, problem-solving, and process improvement.
- Exposure to Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Roles & Responsibilities :
Production Management
Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets as per the approved plan.Monitor key production parameters, including output, yield, downtime, and scrap, taking timely corrective actions.Optimize resource utilization and drive continuous improvement in line efficiency.Delivery and Coordination
Ensure >95% adherence to delivery commitments and maintain smooth workflow across shifts.
Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to address production challenges and maintain uninterrupted operations.Quality and Compliance
Ensure adherence to GMP, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory standards.Maintain documentation and records as per quality and audit requirements.Support internal and external audits, ensuring zero critical observations.Team Leadership and Development
Lead, motivate, and guide supervisors and operators to achieve operational goals.Conduct training to enhance skills, discipline, and safety awareness among team members.Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Process Improvement and Cost Optimization
Identify areas for process optimization and productivity enhancement through Lean and Kaizen initiatives.Support cost-reduction and waste-minimization projects while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.Functional Skills Required
Strong understanding of assembly line operations and process control.Working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.Familiarity with quality tools such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA.Competence in data-driven decision-making and production reporting.Proficiency in ERP or MES systems for production management.Behavioral Skills Required
