Key Responsibilities :
Clinical Responsibilities :
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with solid and hematologic malignancies.
- Design and manage comprehensive treatment plans including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy.
- Monitor treatment responses, manage side effects, and adjust regimens as necessary.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including imaging, biopsies, and tumor markers.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, participating in tumor board discussions and collaborative decision-making.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and outcomes.
- Provide supportive and palliative care during all stages of cancer.
- Ensure patient safety and compliance with oncology protocols and national guidelines.
- Maintain meticulous patient records, documentation, and follow-ups.
Academic & Research Responsibilities (if applicable) :
Engage in clinical research and contribute to academic publications.Integrate emerging scientific knowledge into clinical practice.Participate in teaching programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.Present at CME programs, oncology conferences, and internal seminars.Administrative and Leadership :
Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for oncology care.Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation processes (e.g., NABH, JCI).Ensure compliance with institutional policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in oncology care.Qualifications and Experience :
Educational Qualification :MBBS with MD / DNB in Internal MedicineDM / DNB in Medical Oncology or equivalent fellowship from a recognized institutionExperience :Minimum 3–5 years of experience post-specialization in a reputed oncology center or tertiary care hospital (adjustable).Experience with both solid and hematologic tumors is preferred.Licensure :Valid registration with State / National Medical Council.Key Skills and Competencies :
In-depth knowledge of oncology protocols, drug regimens, and cancer biology.Competency in handling chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and management of treatment-related complications.Ability to interpret complex diagnostic results and use evidence-based decision-making.Strong communication and counseling skills for delivering sensitive information.Skills Required
