Job description

Job Title : Managed File Transfer (MFT) Developer / Integration Specialist

Blue Spire is seeking a highly skilled Managed File Transfer (MFT) Specialist with strong experience in enterprise-level file transmission platforms such as

Seeburger BIS

and

IBM Connect : Direct

  • . The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in

map development, trading partner onboarding, and integration of EDI transaction sets

  • . This role requires strong problem-solving capabilities, a deep understanding of EDI standards, and excellent troubleshooting skills.

    • Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain file transmission workflows using

    • Seeburger BIS

    and / or

    IBM Connect : Direct

  • Develop and test

    • mapping solutions

    based on business and trading partner requirements.

  • Work with

    • EDI standards

    including

    ANSI X12

    EDIFACT

    , and other structured / unstructured file formats like

    NACHA

    BAI

    IDOC

    XML

    , and

    SAP

    integration formats.

  • Perform onboarding and configuration of

    • trading partners

    and communication protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, OFTP, VAN).

  • Troubleshoot file transfer issues by analyzing

    • application logs, payloads, and integration flows

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business Analysts, Architects, SAP / ERP teams) to support end-to-end integration solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance policies for data transmission.
  • Provide

    • L2 / L3 production support

    and root cause analysis for integration issues.

  • Maintain technical documentation, mapping specifications, and operational guidelines.

    • Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years

    • of hands-on experience with

    Managed File Transfer platforms

    Seeburger BIS

    and / or

    IBM Connect : Direct

  • Strong expertise with

    • EDI standards and transaction sets

    (ANSI X12, EDIFACT).

  • Proficiency in

    • map development tools

    , transformation logic, and test frameworks.

  • Experience integrating

    • NACHA, BAI, IDOC, XML, and flat file

    formats.

  • Solid understanding of

    • communication protocols

    such as SFTP, AS2, FTPS, and HTTPS.

  • Excellent

    • debugging, log analysis, and problem-solving

    skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience in

    • production support and customer issue resolution

    Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of

    • API integrations

    (REST / SOAP) and hybrid integration patterns.

  • Familiarity with

    • SAP integration

    via IDocs or Seeburger SAP adapters.

  • Experience with

    • Linux scripting, SQL

    , or automation of MFT processes.

  • Exposure to

    • cloud-based MFT platforms

    (Azure, AWS Transfer Family, Axway, etc.).

  • Understanding of

    • EDI compliance guidelines

    for industries like retail, logistics, or banking.
