Job description

We’re looking for a Process Engineer to join our team offshore, helping lead the way in innovative and sustainable water infrastructure engineering.

Your Purpose

As a Process Engineer, you will provide technical direction and guidance to process engineers, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of process design for water infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for reviewing and ensuring that process design deliverables meet required standards, specifications, and project outcomes. This role provides the opportunity to work remotely while leading a team to shape the future of water infrastructure through sustainable, innovative design.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead process design delivery for water infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with safety, technical, and quality standards.

Review process design deliverables, including mass balances, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams, ensuring technical accuracy.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely design reviews and adjustments.

Mentor and develop junior process engineers, fostering professional growth and the adoption of best practices.

Ensure designs comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards, including hazardous area compliance (DSEAR).

Contribute to continuous improvement, driving innovation in design and digital technologies.

Support stakeholder management and supplier coordination to ensure design acceptance and successful project delivery.

Champion sustainability and carbon reduction in design practices to enhance natural capital.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum B. Tech / M. Tech in Environmental / Chemical Engineering from an institution of repute.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of design in the water and municipal wastewater industry. Including Biological Treatment processes.
  • An appreciation of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable solutions, water and wastewater processes and health and safety legislation.
  • The ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals to optimise and develop bespoke and innovative designs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software including Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors

Key points :

  • A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Ideally chartered or working towards chartered status.
  • Strong experience in the water sector, particularly in process design and capital projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of process design standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Experience in a Design & Build environment is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental management in water infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of engineering solutions.
  • A proactive approach to learning and development, with a keen interest in embracing new technologies and improving efficiency.
  • A commitment to safety, ensuring all designs comply with CDM regulations and health and safety practices.
