Job description

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform day-to-day system administration tasks across Unix-based servers.
  • Manage Unix job control, monitor system processes, and handle system-level troubleshooting.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation, uptime, and performance tuning of systems.
  • Develop and implement CLI-based workflows and automation scripts to streamline operations.
  • Monitor system health using command-line tools and third-party monitoring solutions.
  • Perform regular system backups, updates, and patch management.
  • Validate and ensure robustness, correctness, and reproducibility in system operations.
  • Respond to and resolve system alerts and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Document configurations, processes, and system-related Skills :
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Unix System Administrator.
  • Strong understanding of Unix job control, system-level troubleshooting, and resource

management.

  • Proficient in command-line interface (CLI) operations and scripting (Shell, Bash, or similar).
  • Experience with system monitoring, automation, and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of process management, user access control, and server hardening.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Good written and verbal communication Qualifications :
  • Exposure to DevOps tools or cloud-based Unix environments.
  • Experience working in 24x7 production environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools.
