Job description

We are seeking a Lead Maintenance professional with expertise in gearbox or engine assembly shops. This role involves developing and implementing standard control architectures, leading maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement, and integrating IoT solutions to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement standard control architectures for all assembly equipment ( PLC, HMI, sensors, safety interlocks , etc.).
  • Define control logic and safety interlock standards for machines and workstations.
  • Work with vendors and OEMs to retrofit or upgrade legacy systems to standardized platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
  • Ensure cybersecurity and version control for PLC programs and HMI configurations.
  • Implement IoT-enabled condition monitoring, predictive maintenance , and machine data acquisition.
  • Collaborate with digital transformation teams to deploy smart sensors and networked devices.
  • Integrate machine-level data with MES / SCADA systems for real-time performance monitoring.
  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities for assembly line equipment (DC tools, conveyors, testers, leak detection systems, etc.).
  • Minimize downtime by implementing robust root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Maintain spares inventory and coordinate with procurement for critical items.
  • Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets and KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE).
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards and statutory regulations for electrical and control systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives like TPM, 5S, and Lean Maintenance .

Skills Required

  • Exposure to electric vehicle drivetrains or conventional gearbox manufacturing .
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servo systems , and industrial networking protocols.
  • Good understanding of gearbox architecture and assembly practices .
  • Experience with IoT implementations and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Exposure to electric vehicle (EV) component assembly or automated torque & traceability systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good coordination skills.
