SAP Testing & QA Lead

Position Title : Senior SAP Testing & QA Lead

Role Overview

The SAP Testing & QA Lead will be responsible for defining, managing, and executing the end-to-end testing strategy for SAP projects, releases, and operations. This includes functional, regression, automation, integration, and performance testing. The role ensures the quality, stability, and scalability of SAP solutions through robust QA practices, effective use of tools, and leadership of global testing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Governance

Define and implement the overall SAP testing strategy across functional, regression, automation, and performance testing.

Establish and maintain testing standards, processes, and quality metrics.

Ensure alignment with IT governance, audit, and compliance requirements.

Test Planning & Execution

Lead planning, design, execution, and defect management for SAP testing cycles.

Oversee regression and performance test cycles for SAP releases, upgrades, and support packs.

Ensure readiness of test environments, test data, and automation frameworks.

Performance Testing

Design, implement, and oversee SAP performance, load, and stress testing processes.

Utilize tools such as SAP LoadRunner (Performance Center), JMeter, Neoload, Tricentis Flood, or equivalent to validate system scalability and reliability.

Partner with Basis and infrastructure teams to analyze system performance and optimize configurations.

Provide performance benchmarks, root cause analysis, and recommendations to prevent bottlenecks.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead and mentor QA / test analysts, including offshore and vendor teams.

Collaborate with project managers, functional consultants, and business stakeholders to ensure testing alignment with requirements.

Drive UAT planning, issue triage, and final sign-off processes.

Automation & Tools

Expand test automation coverage using tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Worksoft Certify, SAP CBTA, or Selenium.

Integrate performance and automation testing into CI / CD pipelines where applicable.

Monitor and report KPIs to continuously improve test efficiency and effectiveness.

Business Engagement & Reporting

Provide leadership with transparent reporting on test progress, quality risks, and defect trends.

Partner with business process owners to validate testing scope for SAP processes including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in SAP QA / Testing, with 6+ years in a test lead or QA manager role.
• Strong understanding of SAP modules (FI / CO, MM, SD, PP, HR, BW, etc.) and end-to-end business processes.
• Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools : LoadRunner, JMeter, Neoload, Tricentis Flood, or similar.
• Proven experience with test automation (Tricentis Tosca, Worksoft, CBTA, Selenium, etc.).
• Proficiency in test management tools (HP ALM, SAP Solution Manager, Jira, qTest, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with global delivery models (onshore, offshore, vendor resources).
