Job Purpose
We are seeking a Backend Product Manager who will serve as the central nervous system of our commerce technology stack. This role is responsible for shaping the foundational systems behind how orders are promised, processed, fulfilled, and delivered across brands, pin codes, and edge cases. Your mission will be to design and orchestrate robust, modular systems that power logistics intelligence, OMS, ERP, POS, and omnichannel capabilities at scale.
This is not a typical PM role — it's a deep, systems-level position ideal for someone passionate about building scalable commerce logic and seamless backend operations.
Key Responsibilities
Core Backend Platform Thinking
- Drive the Order Management System (OMS) : Handle order lifecycle logic (partial shipments, returns, cancellations, RTOs), and inventory reservation and release.
- Integrate with ERP systems for financial flows : GRNs, invoice generation, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with POS systems : Enable real-time inventory sync, split order flows, click & collect, and store-based fulfilment.
- Power omnichannel infrastructure including :
- BOPIS (Buy Online, Pickup in Store)
- BORIS (Buy Online, Return in Store)
- Inter-warehouse transfers and store handovers (tag loop management)
Delivery Intelligence & Logistics Systems
Lead the Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) engine factoring logistics SLAs, serviceability, and warehouse location.Build smart delivery promise engines and fallback mechanisms to support dynamic supply chain conditions.Architect hyperlocal delivery capabilities : rider assignments, location-aware routing, and proximity-based inventory.Design and automate NDR / NPR (Non-Delivery / Non-Pickup) workflows : including retry logic, root cause diagnostics, and escalations.Cross-Functional Execution at Scale
Act as a cross-functional glue between engineering, operations, finance, logistics, and product teams.Own the full product lifecycle : functional specs, API contracts, UATs, go-live, and post-launch iterations.Prioritize and trade-off system performance, speed, and scalability — always focused on reliability and customer promise.Role Requirements
3–6 years of Product Management experience, ideally in e-commerce, logistics tech, or backend-heavy B2C systems.Deep understanding of OMS, ERP, POS, or WMS platforms.Comfortable working with backend engineering topics : state machines, event-driven architecture, microservices, queues, etc.Strong systems thinking and ability to translate operational complexity into product logic.Ability to context switch between debugging flows and setting high-level quarterly roadmaps.Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment skills.Location : Not specified
