The Quantum Hardware Team at QpiAI is responsible for the design and characterization of Quantum Processors, Cryogenic Quantum Control Circuits, RF Control Hardware, and QpiAI's proprietary Accelerated Signal Generation Platform (ASGP).

Job Description

We are seeking a Cryogenic Engineer with expertise in the development and testing of cryostats for temperature sensors and single-photon detectors. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to our cryogenic technology roadmap, enabling precise thermal management in ultra-low-temperature environments essential for quantum computing and sensing applications.

Job Role :

  • Work on the development, operation, and maintenance of cryogenic systems, including cryostats used for testing quantum devices.
  • General knowledge of cryostats; hands-on experience with any specific cryostat systems is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of dilution refrigerators; prior experience at a cryogenics facility is a strong advantage.
  • Contribute to the fabrication and process development of quantum devices with hands-on experience in :
  • Optical lithography / Electron beam lithography.
  • Wet and dry etching techniques.
  • Thin-film deposition (Sputtering, Evaporation).
  • Knowledge of dielectric deposition techniques, including PECVD, LPCVD, and Dry / Wet oxidation.
  • Adherence to cleanroom chemical safety protocols; experience at CeNSE IISc cleanroom or similar facilities is preferred.
  • Generate analytical reports supporting the definition of Design of Experiments (DoE) and continuous process improvement.
  • Design and execute test plans to enhance process reliability, quality, and reproducibility of device parameters.
  • Operate and analyze data from various characterization tools such as SEM, AFM, and electrical conductivity measurement systems.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; must be a dependable and proactive team player.
