Software Compliance Engineer
This position is for a Software Compliance Engineer in the Solutions & Services Group (SSG). This is an exciting role that will give you the opportunity to work with Lenovo Product teams around the world to help Lenovo Business Units align with various regional, national and international standards and regulations. You will be working alongside some of the best development teams in the industry.
Position Description :
We are looking for a candidate to support the execution of company policies and licensing obligations for open-source software across multiple products and platforms. This person will participate in the analysis of large and complex software code bases, working across multiple internal product / development teams and vendors. The ideal candidate will understand software usage and distribution details, as well as enforce company policies for successful compliance around use of open-source software across multiple released product lines.
This position requires technical depth, operational discipline as well as excellent communication skills. The successful candidate is a proven leader, has development experience, is analytical, and equally comfortable with senior leadership visibility and leading high-level conversations across decision-makers. The candidate will possess good knowledge of open-source tools / software currently used and be familiar with their licensing. Programming knowledge in C, python, JS as well as Java experience, is a huge plus.
Job responsibilities :
- Support execution of company policy and licensing obligations for open-source software across multiple products and platforms
- Participate in the analysis of large and complex software code bases and systems, and report detected third-party and open-source components and their licenses
- Operate software analysis tools, as well as review and track Open-Source license compliance issues before product is shipped
- Work with stakeholders (Legal / Development) to review / gather licensing requirements and define paths to successful outcomes
- Identify and raise concerns / risks to management / legal
- Gather / present status
Skills / Qualifications :
Working knowledge of Application development2+ years of software development experience2+ years of experience with Open-Source Software development, or related projectsExperience with SW / FW development processFamiliarity with Open-Source licensesTechnical competence with programming languages such as C, Python, JavaScript, Coco Pods or JavaExperience with automated build tools, version control systems, and artifact repositories such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, MavenExcellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging team environmentAble to work autonomously with a “Get things done” attitude.Excellent interpersonal, judgment, and analytical skillsEducation :
