Senior Data Engineer – Azure (JG4)

Location : Bangalore, India (Onsite)

Contract Type : 1-year contract (January–June 2026, and a possible extension to December 2026)

Work Schedule : Full-time, on-site

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer (JG4) with strong Azure expertise to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade data pipelines and large-scale data solutions. This role demands deep technical capability, leadership in best practices, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable, high-performing data architectures. You will collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders, while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.
Lead data engineering best practices, including estimations, code reviews, and CI / CD pipelines .
Manage large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes.
Ensure compliance with data quality , governance, and metadata standards.
Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business teams to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
Implement and enforce security, privacy, and compliance controls across data architectures.
Mentor junior engineers, driving knowledge sharing and capability uplift across the team.
Apply performance optimization measures to enhance team productivity and code efficiency .

Mandatory Skills

8+ years of Data Engineering experience, including 4+ years working with Microsoft Azure .

Deep hands-on expertise with :

Azure Data Factory

Azure Databricks

Azure Synapse Analytics

Azure Data Lake Gen2

Azure SQL Server

Unity Catalog

Advanced proficiency in :

SQL

PySpark

Python

Strong understanding of :

Data modeling

ELT pipelines

Data warehousing

Big data architecture

Experience implementing CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)

Solid understanding of data security and role-based access control (RBAC) .

Preferred Skills

Experience working in complex, enterprise-scale environments.

Knowledge of performance optimization for analytical pipelines.

Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments.
