About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Lead Database Administrator with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server development and administration. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in database management, performance tuning, and cloud hosting, specifically within AWS environments. Experience with MongoDB and PostgresDB will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and proactive monitoring to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and T-SQL scripts for efficient data retrieval and processing.
Design and optimize database schemas and indexes to ensure scalability, high performance, and data integrity.
Manage SQL Server instances hosted on AWS services, such as EC2, RDS, Amazon FSx for Windows File Server, and VPC configurations.
Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies including replication, clustering, and automated failover in cloud environments.
Monitor database health and performance, diagnose issues, and apply necessary patches or upgrades to maintain security and reliability.
Support and manage MongoDB and PostgresDB deployments, including tuning, troubleshooting, and operational support.
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure database solutions meet organizational and compliance requirements.
Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and team collaboration.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or Senior Developer specializing in Microsoft SQL Server.

Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, backup / restore, and monitoring tools.

Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning of T-SQL code.

Experience with database schema design and index optimization techniques to improve query performance and scalability.

Hands-on experience managing SQL Server databases in AWS cloud environments (EC2, RDS, Amazon FSx, VPC, etc.).

Solid understanding of high availability and disaster recovery strategies including replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.

Working knowledge of MongoDB and PostgresDB including deployment, tuning, and support is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
