Job description

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases to support application needs.
  • Perform database tuning and optimization for performance improvements.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and optimize

queries.

  • Implement and maintain database security best practices.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across distributed environments.
  • Support database migration and upgrades as required.
  • Document database configurations, policies, and Skills & Qualifications :
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, functions, and triggers.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of database security and user access management.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and performance metrics analysis.
  • Ability to write automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of database replication and clustering.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and remote environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
