Who You’ll Work With
You will work with software development engineers, product managers, and software test engineers to analyse customer requirements and use cases, gather technical details, create software test plans, and validate that the product meets our customer’s requirements. You will also work with our customer support and engineering teams to help address escalated customer issues by reproducing, and debugging those in the lab.
The Role will provide opportunities to create real time impact in the network monitoring, deep packet analysis, virtualization technologies and analytics.
What You’ll Do
- Use every means possible to find the bugs in the software and / or hardware being developed by your team.
- Write test plans to validate Arista features and products.
- Design test network topologies to validate functionality, performance, stability and scalability of features and products.
- Execute test plans to verify all aspects of the product. Identify defects and validate resolution.
- Work as an agile member of a combined development and test team, running in short cycles to develop functional software in quick iterations.
- Participate in functional specification and software design reviews and provide customer centric input.
Qualifications
BS CS / CE / EE plus 3+ years of experience.Proven expertise in creating test methodologies and writing test plans.Fast learner with the ability to quickly absorb new information and apply it effectively.Strong knowledge of L2 / L3 networking, network security.Experience working with similar network monitoring or packet broker solutions.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Good understanding of Linux fundamentals, shell commands and virtualization principlesWorking knowledge of current virtualization software, tools, protocols, and standards, including vCenter, VMware ESXi / NSX, Nutanix Prism, Linux KVM is a plus.Experience with Ixia / Spirent, Wireshark, tcpdump, or a similar network traffic generation or packet capture / analysis toolExperience with open source networking performance test tools (Netperf, Iperf, etc.)Additional Requirements :
Ability to operate and maintain a physical test topology in a remote lab environmentAbility to debug complex problems and isolate bugs from desired behaviorAbility to do multitaskingExcellent written and verbal communication skills“The Buck Stops Here” attitudeExperience with testing DPDK based applications is a plusAdditional Information
