About GSAS Micro Systems
GSAS Micro Systems is India's leading embedded technology solutions company, representing 23+ global partners across the complete product development lifecycle — from virtual prototyping to production deployment. Headquartered in Bengaluru with regional offices across India, we serve automotive OEMs, aerospace & defense programs, semiconductor houses, medical electronics companies, and EV/energy systems developers with world-class instrumentation, software tools, and expert technical services.
The Role
As a Field Application Engineer – Simulation Software, you will be the technical face of GSAS's computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation portfolio. You'll work with design, analysis, and R&D teams across automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, and energy sectors to help them adopt and maximize the value of world-class simulation tools for structural analysis, multibody dynamics, acoustics, computational fluid dynamics, nonlinear analysis, virtual prototyping, and ADAS/autonomous driving simulation. This role demands real simulation experience — you should be comfortable with finite element models, dynamic system behavior, and the engineering judgment to know which solver fits which problem.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on technical demonstrations, evaluations, and proof-of-concept projects for GSAS's CAE simulation portfolio — spanning structural FEA (linear and nonlinear), multibody dynamics, vibro-acoustics and aero-acoustics, thermal analysis, fatigue and durability, computational fluid dynamics, composite material modeling, and virtual test drive environments for ADAS and autonomous vehicle development.
Support customers through the full adoption lifecycle — from initial benchmarking and solver selection through model setup, meshing strategy, solver configuration, post-processing, and results correlation with physical test data. Guide teams on pre/post-processing workflows and best practices for model fidelity.
Deliver technical training and workshops for engineering teams on simulation methodologies: structural dynamics (modal, frequency response, transient), nonlinear contact and material modeling, mechanism and linkage simulation, NVH analysis, sensor simulation for autonomous driving scenarios, and manufacturing process simulation.
Assist customers in building simulation-driven design workflows — connecting CAE tools with existing CAD environments, enabling parametric studies and design optimization, and helping teams shift analysis earlier in the development cycle to reduce prototyping costs and time-to-market.
Collaborate with the sales team on opportunity qualification, technical proposal development, and competitive positioning against alternative simulation platforms. Provide technical input for RFP responses and customer presentations.
Stay current with simulation technology trends — cloud-based simulation, AI/ML-augmented analysis, digital twin frameworks, SiL/HiL integration for ADAS, and industry-specific regulatory requirements that drive simulation adoption.
Requirements
3–6 years of hands-on CAE simulation experience in an engineering, consulting, or application engineering role. You've built and solved FEA models, run dynamic simulations, or performed acoustic/vibration analysis on real products — not just coursework.
Strong working knowledge of structural FEA (linear statics, dynamics, buckling), and practical experience with at least two of the following: multibody dynamics simulation, nonlinear analysis (contact, large deformation, material nonlinearity), acoustic simulation (vibro-acoustics, aero-acoustics), thermal analysis, fatigue/durability prediction, or CFD.
Familiarity with industry-standard pre/post-processing tools and solver environments. Understanding of meshing strategies, element selection, boundary condition definition, and results validation techniques.
Experience in at least one of GSAS's core verticals — automotive (vehicle dynamics, NVH, crash, powertrain), aerospace (structural qualification, flutter, thermal-structural), defense, industrial machinery, or EV/energy systems.
Understanding of the product development lifecycle and how simulation integrates with CAD, test, and manufacturing workflows. Experience with simulation data management or process automation (scripting, API-driven workflows) is a plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills. You can walk a senior analyst through a complex contact nonlinearity setup and present simulation ROI to an engineering director. Willingness to travel for customer engagements, training, and industry events.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. Postgraduate specialization in structural mechanics, dynamics, acoustics, or computational methods is preferred.
Benefits
A role where you'll work with India's most sophisticated engineering teams on simulation problems that directly influence product design and safety — from vehicle dynamics and crashworthiness to aerospace structural qualification and acoustic optimization. You'll represent a world-class simulation portfolio trusted by global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. A technically rigorous team, competitive compensation, performance-linked incentives, and a growth path into senior application engineering, solutions consulting, or technical leadership.
