Job description

Qualification and Experience

Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Agribusiness, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in banking, rural finance, or agricultural finance.
Proven track record of working with banks, MFIs, or international development organizations in agriculture / rural finance / Livelihood sector.
Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, rural credit systems, and inclusive finance models.
Knowledge of digital financial services, fintech solutions, and risk mitigation (crop insurance, guarantees).
Experience in donor-funded development projects (World Bank, IFAD, FAO, USAID, etc.) preferred.
Experience of working in North Eastern states will be an added advantage.

Commercial Transactions, financial modeling, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, financial literacy, agribusiness finance, Agriculture and rural livelihood dynamics

Scope of Work

Develop and implement financing strategies for farm and non-farm livelihood activities

Identify innovative credit financing model (value-chain financing, blended finance, digital financial services, green / climate finance).

Facilitate linkage between beneficiaries (SHGs, SHG Member Entrepreneurs) and formal financial institutions (bank, MFIs etc.)

Support in designing and operationalizing product tailored for agriculture and rural enterprises

Liaise with Bank, Insurance Companies and Government schemes to leverage benefit for beneficiaries.

Train enterprises on financial literacy, credit management, and business planning

Train stakeholders on financial regulations, risk management and compliance requirements

Advice on policies related to agricultural credit, rural financing and non-farm enterprise promotion

Build partnership with Banks, NABARD, SIDBI, Cooperative Bank, Microfinance Institution and Insurance providers.

Contribute to project design, proposal writing, and financial models for livelihood and agriculture projects.

Monitor and evaluate financial inclusion components of livelihood projects, ensuring effective results and impact measurement.

Provide regular reports, case studies, and best practice documentation.

Other activities as assigned by Project Manager / Team Leader.
