Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Networking & Hardware Support Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our network and hardware systems, supporting both internal teams and client-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Infrastructure Management : Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Ensure optimal performance and security of the network infrastructure.
- Hardware Support : Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, including servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.
- Technical Support : Provide timely and effective support to end-users for network and hardware-related issues. Document and track incidents using ticketing systems.
- System Monitoring : Monitor network performance and hardware health, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the software development and IT teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with application requirements and performance standards.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed records of network configurations, hardware inventories, and support activities.
- Training & Mentorship : Assist in training junior IT staff and end-users on best practices for hardware and network usage.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 4 years in a networking and hardware support role, preferably within an IT services environment.Certifications : Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are good to have.Technical Skills : Proficiency in network protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP), hardware troubleshooting, and familiarity with network monitoring tools.Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and network issues.Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Certifications : Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or similar advanced certifications.Experience with Virtualization : Familiarity with virtualized environments and cloud platforms.Scripting Skills : Knowledge of scripting languages for automation tasks is a plus.Industry Knowledge : Experience in a software development or IT services company with a focus on infrastructure support.Compensation & Benefits
