Primary Job Title (standardized) : Consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon

Location & Workplace : On-site — Sangli, Maharashtra, India.

Role & Responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency laparoscopic and minimally invasive general surgical procedures with high standards of clinical safety and adherence to OT protocols.
• Run outpatient clinics, assess surgical candidates, plan perioperative care, and lead pre-op and post-op patient counselling.
• Provide on-call emergency surgical coverage, triage acute cases, and perform trauma / urgent laparoscopic interventions as required.
• Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and theatre staff; promote best practices in asepsis, instrument handling, and MIS techniques.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, nursing, and allied specialties to optimise patient pathways and reduce length-of-stay and complications.
