Senior Software Engineer II

About the Role

This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users / customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using PHP and Laravel

Design and implement RESTful APIs for web applications

Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to integrate user-facing elements

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software to ensure strong optimization and functionality

Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices

Integrate third-party services and APIs. Manage database schema changes and ensure data integrity using MySQL / PostgreSQL

Use version control systems like Git for code management and collaboration

Write and maintain unit and integration tests

Requirements :

8+ years of experience with PHP and Laravel framework

Experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL databases and query optimization

Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. Familiarity with Composer , artisan CLI , queues , and scheduling

Knowledge of authentication , authorization , and security best practices

Strong understanding of OOP , MVC architecture , and RESTful API design. Experience with debugging and performance profiling tools

Experience with Docker and CI / CD pipelines

Knowledge of microservices architecture. Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure). Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
