Position Summary

The Senior Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that transform data into actionable insights. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to create interactive dashboards, reports, and data models using Microsoft Power BI and related technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem (M365, Azure, SQL Server, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that meet business and technical requirements.
Collaborate with business users to gather, understand, and document reporting requirements.
Develop data models, DAX calculations, and measures to optimize performance and ensure data accuracy.
Integrate Power BI with various data sources — SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Excel, APIs, SharePoint, etc.
Implement and manage data refresh schedules, security roles, and row-level security (RLS).
Support and maintain existing BI solutions, ensuring reliability and performance optimization.
Work with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or other ETL tools for data ingestion and transformation.
Provide guidance on data visualization best practices and self-service BI enablement for business teams.
Ensure adherence to governance, data quality, and compliance standards.
Mentor junior developers and support cross-functional analytics initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

5–8 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics roles.

3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, Power BI Gateway).

Strong experience with SQL and relational database concepts.

Familiarity with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Logic Apps).

Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and dimensional modeling.

Experience with M365 integrations (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Dynamics 365).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable BI solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified : Data Analyst Associate / Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300).

Experience in AI-driven reporting, Copilot for Power BI, or Power Platform integration (Power Automate, Power Apps).

Background in financial, operational, or performance analytics.

Exposure to Agile / Scrum methodologies and version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps).

Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Mentorship mindset — able to guide junior developers.

Curious, analytical, and passionate about data storytelling.
