Key Responsibilities :
Switchgear Design & Development
- Lead detailed design and development of switchgear assemblies such as MCCs, control panels, motor starters, distribution boards, and protection systems.
- Prepare and review design documents, single line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Select appropriate components (circuit breakers, relays, contactors, busbars, etc.) ensuring compliance with standards like IEC, ANSI, IS.
Technical Analysis & Validation
Perform electrical calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, thermal rating) to validate design safety and performance.Support prototype testing, fault analysis, and design optimization.Work with QA to ensure design compliance with product certifications and quality standards.Collaboration & DocumentationCoordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve design-related issues.Provide technical support for customer queries and project execution.Maintain design records, BOMs, and version control for all projects.Mentoring & Process Improvement
Mentor junior design engineers and CAD technicians.Suggest and implement design process improvements and automation.Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineCertifications in electrical design or project management are a plusExperience :
6–12 years in design and development of electrical switchgear or panel boardsHands-on experience with CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similarKey Skills :
Strong knowledge of electrical switchgear components, standards (IEC, ANSI, IS)Proficiency in electrical design software and MS OfficeAnalytical mindset with problem-solving skillsGood communication and team collaboration skillsAbility to handle multiple projects and deadlinesSkills Required
