Job title : PGT Chemistry Teacher

Job Description : The PGT Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for teaching students from Grades 9 to 12. This role requires a deep knowledge of the subject, as well as a commitment to inspiring both students and colleagues. The teacher should also have experience of working with students in bringing Chemistry to life by connecting it with real world examples, guiding students in Chemistry activities, helping set up science stalls during the science exhibition etc. The teacher should have the ability to plan classes for effective teaching. The teacher should have thorough knowledge and skills required for Chemistry laboratory practicals as required by CBSE and knowledge of conduct of projects.

Key Responsibilities :

• Teach Chemistry to students from upto Grade 12 with a strong focus on preparing secondary and senior secondary students for CBSE board exams.
• Develop and implement well-structured lesson plans that promote a deep understanding of Chemistry concepts and their applications.
• Mentor junior teachers in the department, providing guidance on best teaching practices and classroom management strategies to ensure high-quality instruction.
• Assess and track students’ progress through formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback to support their growth.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, preparing them for academic success and real-world applications of Chemistry.
• Provide support in organizing and supervising Chemistry related extracurricular activities, competitions, and projects.
• Actively participate in departmental and school-wide meetings, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership, contributing to the broader life of the school.

Qualifications and Skills :

1. Education : MSc in Chemistry or a related field. B.Ed is mandatory.

2. Experience : 5 to 10 years in teaching Chemistry to senior secondary students under the CBSE curriculum.
