Job description

Job Purpose :

A point of HSE contact for local clients and authorities.

The incumbent will be responsible and coordinate the activities required to meet the quality standard set for the services. Shall ensure that this quality is consistent and meets both External & Internal requirements. This role is concerned with monitoring and advising on the performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standard.

Responsible for establishing, maintenance and improvement of existing ISO quality system for Indian Freight and Contract Logistics sites

Responsible for Incidents / Accidents investigating and documenting quality non-conformances and takes the lead in root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce LTIFR.

Responsible to develop the QHSE Culture for “Spot the Hazard” to reduce LTIFR.

Responsible to enforce the QHSE culture for Hazard reporting, eg Near Miss and HSE Trainings

Manage all health and safety matters including pandemic

Responsible for providing value-added advice and support t on the creation or modification of policies,

procedures, processes, products, or services to ensure an appropriate level of internal control and compliance is maintained

Key Accountabilities :

Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance of the Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems to the requirements of the ISO standards (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001), states regulatory authorities & customers and implement corrective / preventive actions as necessary.

Maintain all HSE documentation, procedures, forms, risk assessment

Review all documents and legal registers with BU’s at intervals

Handle reports, government & external audits, inspections, license & organize external ISO Audits

Follow up on latest statutory regulations and compliance for all HSE (including states statutory requirements)

Conduct periodic site inspections and audits to ensure that work activities are carried out in safe manner

Work with Operations team to identify process gaps & develop improvement plans to resolve the issues

Prepare and review documentation necessary to fulfil customer's KPI (e.g. Work Instructions, QBR)

Handle customer complaints and process non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis to identify effective correction and process improvement. This include, conducting investigations (incidents and accidents) and submit to management / customer for review in a timely manner, and follow up on the corrective and preventive action effectiveness check, to ensure no repeated occurrence; and leverage to the actions to other process area as continuous improvement.

Lead in quarterly quality reports including update performance, trends, improvement & support needed

Operation and sustainability of the standards.

Preparing the processes, procedures, forms and instructions and coding and publishing.

Defining HSE Objectives with Stakeholders and monitoring them every QBR.

Registration of the non-compliances and follow-up corrective actions.

Performing Internal Audits as per set standard of Organisation and ISO requirements.

Performing 3rd party Supplier Audits pertaining to Crucial operations on Safety elements

Arranging Management Review Meetings.

Conducting Trainings to increase the awareness for QMS / IMS / BCMS / FMEA / Pharma & DG

Evaluate the adequacy of process design and the effectiveness of controls in meeting business and control objectives. Identify and document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings.

  • Assist in the preparation of a concise and informative audit report to effectively communicate the findings and recommendations to the branch / department and senior management.

Education & Qualifications :

Bachelor Degree

NEBOSH

Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIAS)

Experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in HSE & Quality Management ideally with the logistics industry in similar capacity in Contract

Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Transportation or Supply chain.

Designed and Implemented an Integrated Management System

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

Good knowledge of MS Office

Knowledge in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 22301 standards, preferably qualified Lead / Internal auditor

Strong analytical and problem solving skills; both short-term / tactical and long-term / strategic

Act as focal point for logistics related escalations and complaints, and all other quality matters

Implementation expert of the standards of GDP, AEO / C-TPAT, ISPS.

Certified to DGR – IATA & IMDG

Familiar with 5S, BCP, Lean Sigma, Kaizen

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
