ServiceNow Test Manager – Roles & Responsibilities

Experience & Leadership

  • Possess 5–7 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Proven track record of leading teams of 4–6 testers, managing performance, mentoring, and ensuring high-quality output.
  • Ability to work independently while also guiding and supporting the team.

ServiceNow Platform Expertise

  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and custom applications.
  • Hands-on experience in test planning, execution, automation, and defect management within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and business analysts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Customer Engagement & Communication

  • Act as a customer-facing lead, managing all communications related to testing activities, timelines, risks, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and present test strategies, status reports, defect summaries, and other documentation to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring alignment with business goals and expectations.
  • Individual Contribution

  • Be a hands-on test manager, capable of writing and executing test cases, performing defect triage, and contributing to automation efforts.
  • Take ownership of critical testing tasks and support the team during high-pressure phases.
  • Project Delivery & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee end-to-end testing lifecycle for ServiceNow implementations and upgrades.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align testing with overall project objectives.
  • Process Improvement & Governance

  • Define and implement testing processes, standards, and best practices tailored to ServiceNow projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and client-specific quality frameworks.
