Job Purpose
To manage and support the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and timely availability of materials, ensuring smooth production operations within the roll forming industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute procurement of raw materials such as steel coils, galvanized sheets, and roll forming components.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost-effective procurement.
- Coordinate with production, planning, and quality departments to forecast material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to support strategic purchasing decisions.
- Handle import / export documentation (if applicable) and logistics coordination.
- Prepare and maintain procurement reports, supplier performance metrics, and cost analyses.
- Support the Procurement Manager in implementing strategic sourcing initiatives and process improvements.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of raw materials used in roll forming (e.g., CR, HR, GI, PPGI sheets, etc.).Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.Analytical and cost-conscious approach.Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally ERP preferred).Good communication and coordination skillsStrong understanding of logistics, inventory control, and supply chain principles.Qualification & Experience
Qualification : B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent. MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred.
Experience : 6–8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in roll forming / steel / fabrication / sheet metal manufacturing industry.
