Role Objective : To lead end-to-end plant operations for the EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) unit, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The role focuses on driving productivity, process improvement, and customer satisfaction through strategic leadership and robust execution
Key Responsibilities :
Plant Operations & Management
- Oversee complete manufacturing operations including SMT, assembly, testing, and packaging lines.
- Ensure achievement of production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
- . Quality & Compliance
- Maintain ISO / TS / IATF certifications and ensure compliance with ESD, RoHS, REACH, and other industry standards.
- Implement and monitor stringent quality control processes to minimize rejections and customer complaints.
- Work closely with QA, NPI, and Engineering teams for continuous quality improvement.
People Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop plant teams across production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and high performance.Ensure workforce training on technical skills and quality systems.Cost & Efficiency Management
Monitor and control manufacturing costs, material yield, and labor productivity.Identify and drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery.Ensure effective utilization of plant assets and preventive maintenance systems.Strategic & Customer Interface
Partner with Business Development and Customer teams for new product introductions and ramp-ups.Ensure timely communication and resolution of customer issues.Support strategic capacity expansion, automation, and digitalization initiatives.. Education :
B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.Postgraduate qualification (MBA / PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain, or Management) preferred.Experience :
15-22 years of overall experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or plant management role.Proven track record in managing end-to-end operations within an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), PCBA, or Electronics Assembly setup.Strong exposure to SMT lines, PCB assembly, testing, and box build operations.Experience in managing large teams, multi-shift operations, and high-mix, high-volume production environments.Technical Competencies :
In-depth knowledge of SMT process, PCB manufacturing, wave / reflow soldering, testing (ICT, FCT), and final assembly.Sound understanding of NPI (New Product Introduction), DFM / DFT, and product lifecycle management.Familiarity with automation, Industry 4.0, and digital manufacturing practices.Working knowledge of SAP / ERP systems for production and materials management.Strong understanding of quality systems and standards - ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ESD controls.Leadership & Managerial Competencies :
