Job Title : AWS Cloud Solutions Architect

Location : Remote

Experience Level : 15+ Years

• Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Solutions Architect with strong AWS expertise to help us bridge immediate delivery needs while guiding us toward our longer-term enterprise architecture vision. This person will backfill key responsibilities on active projects while also taking a broader view across application, infrastructure, security, and data domains to highlight gaps, risks, and opportunities.

Short-term delivery

Support ongoing AWS buildouts (dev, QA, prod) with established patterns.

Provide tactical architecture support for projects such as DXC and data modernization.

Partner with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure environments are deployed consistently and securely.

Architecture & design

Develop current-state and future-state cloud architecture diagrams and documentation.

Identify gaps across networking, security, data, and infrastructure; flag with clear red / amber / green indicators.

Recommend best practices and reference architectures aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles.

Collaborate with AWS account team and external partners on reviews and assessments.

Strategic input

Work with enterprise architecture leadership to connect cloud modernization with business strategy (CX modernization, data modernization, legacy transformation).

Advise on hiring or upskilling needs (security, networking, data specialties).

Participate in solution evaluations and vendor / partner discussions.

15+ years of IT experience with at least 12+ years focused on AWS cloud solutions architecture.

Strong breadth across AWS services : compute (EC2, ECS / Fargate, Lambda), networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), security (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub), data (Aurora, S3, Glue, Redshift).

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).

Comfortable with both high-level architecture design and hands-on troubleshooting.

Ability to evaluate trade-offs across cost, performance, scalability, and security.

Strong communication skills : able to work with developers, operations, and business stakeholders.

AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional) strongly preferred.

A generalist mindset : broad knowledge across AWS domains, able to see the big picture and spot gaps.

Not an “ivory tower” architect — someone pragmatic, willing to roll up their sleeves.

Capable of providing immediate tactical support while helping set the stage for enterprise-level architecture alignment.
