The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and procuring civil construction materials, equipment, and services for ongoing and upcoming projects. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery to support project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Material Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify reliable suppliers / vendors for civil works and materials.
- Float enquiries, obtain quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
Vendor Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.Negotiate terms, pricing, credit, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and service.Contracts & Documentation
Draft and review purchase orders, work orders, and contracts in coordination with the contracts team.Maintain procurement records, approvals, and documentation for audits and compliance.Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory requirementsCost & Budget Control
Monitor and control procurement costs within allocated budgets.Provide cost analysis, market trends, and price benchmarking.Support the project team in preparing BOQ and procurement schedules.Coordination & Support
Work closely with the project execution, planning, billing, and QS teams to understand material requirements.Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery and stock management.Assist in resolving material-related site issues.Requirement
BTech / MTech / Dip - Civil Engineering3–7 years of experience in procurement / supply chain within the civil construction sector (infrastructure, real estate, or contracting companies)Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, specifications, and industry standards.Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement software.Analytical mindset with strong cost-control and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
