Key Responsibilities :
1. BIM Modeling & Coordination
Develop accurate and detailed 3D BIM models of electrical substations using Revit and AutoCAD.
Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure clash-free and integrated models.
2. Equipment Library Creation
Create and manage intelligent BIM families for major electrical equipment such as :
Instrument Transformers (CTs, PTs)
Power Transformers
Line Reactors
Circuit Breakers, Isolators, Surge Arresters
Ensure parametric behavior, asset data compliance, and compliance with industry standards.
3. Substation Design Development
Build complete substation layouts including GIS / AIS bays, busbars, cable trenches, and control buildings.
Generate layout plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.
Incorporate manufacturer data and client specifications into the design.
4. Documentation & Deliverables
Prepare and update Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on the BIM model.
Generate shop drawings, IFC drawings, and as-built documentation.
Maintain version control and documentation logs.
5. Quality Control & Standards
Ensure all models and drawings adhere to ISO 19650 standards, client requirements, and internal QA / QC protocols.
Conduct regular model audits and clash detection using tools like Navisworks or BIM 360.
Qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5–8 years of experience in BIM for electrical substations.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM collaboration platforms.
Familiarity with electrical substation components, layouts, and protection systems.
Strong understanding of BIM standards, LOD specifications, and data-rich modeling.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
