Job Summary :
The India Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements under Indian labour laws, EPF, ESIC, professional tax, and other compliance frameworks. The role involves maintaining compliance documentation, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external consultants, and ensuring timely filing and reporting to government authorities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian labour laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Shops & Establishment Act, Minimum Wages, Gratuity, etc.).
- Prepare, review, and maintain compliance trackers and statutory registers.
- Handle monthly statutory filings and ensure timely remittances of EPF, ESI, and PT.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and government departments for labor-related queries.
- Maintain employee records and documentation as per compliance standards.
- Assist in drafting and updating compliance policies, processes, and checklists.
- Monitor updates in statutory regulations and communicate relevant changes to management.
- Support HR and Finance teams in compliance-related activities during payroll processing.
- Ensure timely renewal of licenses and registrations (e.g., Shops & Establishment, CLRA, etc.).
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Law, or HR Management (Master’s degree preferred).2–3 years of experience in statutory and labour law compliance (preferably in a corporate or consulting setup).Sound knowledge of Indian employment laws, compliance portals (EPFO, ESIC, Shram Suvidha, etc.).Proficiency in MS Excel and compliance management tools.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation skills.Good communication and coordination skills.Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have) :
Experience with HRMS or compliance software (Saral, or similar).Exposure to multi-state compliance management.Basic understanding of payroll processes and F&F settlements.Key Attributes :
