About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Production In-Charge to manage daily production operations at our seaweed processing facilities. This role involves ensuring consistent product quality, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining safe, smooth, and efficient production workflows. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in process manufacturing, chemical handling, and production management, with strong capabilities in operational control, quality assurance, and team supervision.
Note : Candidates must have relevant experience in the chemical, or agro-chemical industry. Applications from other industries will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Production
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to meet defined targets and timelines.
- Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and material resources efficiently.
- Monitor process parameters, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Conduct in-process and final quality checks, ensuring adherence to defined product standards.Maintain accurate production and QC documentation for traceability and audits.Collaborate with the QA / QC team to implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, FCO, and other regulatory standards.Inventory & Resource Management
Track and maintain inventory of seaweed, raw materials, and chemicals.Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment of inputs.Ensure proper labeling, safe handling, and storage of all production materials.Prepare and present daily / weekly production and inventory reports.Process Optimization & R&D Support
Support trials, scale-ups, and pilot batches for new product development.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance yield, quality, and cost efficiency.Drive lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, across the production floor.Team Leadership
Supervise, guide, and motivate production operators and technicians.Build a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability across all shifts.Conduct performance evaluations and ensure strict adherence to SOPs.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Natural Product Engineering , or a related field.10–15 years of total experience , including 5–6 years of independently handling natural product manufacturing .Experience working in SME or startup manufacturing setups .Proven ability to establish structured process controls in growing or evolving production environments.Mandatory : Experience in chemical, or agro-chemical industryRequired Skills
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple contract manufacturing partners while ensuring quality, timelines, and cost efficiency.Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — ability to work closely with R&D, supply chain, quality, finance, and sales.Capability to engage directly with customers and contribute to innovation pipelines aligned with regulatory and market trends.Demonstrated success in dynamic startup environments with agility, ownership, and hands-on problem-solving.Preferred Skills
Ability to work in a startup ecosystem, build systems from scratch, and operate comfortably in ambiguous situations.Strong understanding of production processes and workflow management.Good knowledge of chemistry, especially related to seaweed and chemical handling.Ability to quickly identify and resolve production or quality-related issues.Strong interpersonal communication skills.Proactive, solution-oriented mindset.Pay Range & Compensation
