Quality Control Head / Lead (Telugu)

Job Description :

The Head – Quality Control (Localization) – Telugu Language will lead the Quality Control function for all Telugu language localization outputs including subtitling, closed captions, audio description, and other localisation deliverables. This role ensures linguistic accuracy, cultural authenticity, compliance to style guides, and alignment with client, partner, and studio specifications. The position demands strong leadership, language expertise, and the ability to build scalable QC processes while mentoring a team of language translator. They will also be in touch with various production houses to ensure the quality of the files are in sync with the requirements. (Note : this is a work-from-office position).

Key Responsibilities

Define, track, and improve QC metrics—accuracy scores, rework ratios, quality feedback loops.

Develop & establish the own QC standards, language style guides, and quality benchmarks for Telugu localization.

Create standardized QC workflows across translation / subtitling.

Ensure all localized output meets linguistic correctness, tone, contextual accuracy, and cultural relevance.

Conduct final-level QC on high-value / priority content (films, OTT, etc.).

Ensure timely and structured QC documentation, revision logs, and audit trails.

Lead a team of QC reviewers, subtitlers, and freelancers.

Work closely with studios, audio engineers, and editorial teams for script validations.

Collaborate with Project Managers on timelines, handovers, and delivery SLAs.

Partner with Product / Tech teams to improve QC tools, workflows, and automation.

Serve as the primary Telugu QC escalation point for internal teams and external partners.

Provide linguistic expertise for resolving client feedback and disputes.

Skills & Competencies :

Native-level fluency in Telugu (reading, writing, speaking).

Strong command of English for cross-functional communication.

Deep understanding of Telugu grammar, idioms, region-specific dialects, cultural references, and tonal nuances.

Hands-on experience with Subtitling tools, Dubbing workflows, QC checklists.

Familiarity with media localization ecosystem for Film or OTT .

Capability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven production environments.

Qualification & Preferred Background :

6–12+ years of experience in Telugu post production, localization, language quality work, subtitling, or media QC.

3+ years in a supervisory or team leadership role.

Experience working with Movies OTT platforms, studios, broadcasters, or localization agencies is desirable

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or relevant domain.
