Blood Bank Technician [Urgent]

Key responsibilities

• Blood Collection : Collect blood samples from donors and patients, ensuring proper identification and labeling. This includes performing venipuncture and assisting with donor registration and screening.
• Processing and Testing : Process blood and its components for storage and transfusion. Perform essential tests such as blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility (cross-matching) to ensure safe transfusions.
• Inventory and Storage : Monitor and manage the inventory of blood and blood products. Ensure blood components are stored under appropriate, controlled conditions to maintain viability.
• Quality Control : Perform routine checks and calibrations on laboratory equipment. Ensure compliance with quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
• Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities, including patient information, test results, and inventory management.
• Safety and Compliance : Adhere strictly to safety protocols, infection control measures, and all relevant regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients.
• Collaboration : Work closely with medical staff to address patient transfusion needs.
