Job Description : Infrastructure Recovery Project Manager
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Recovery Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and deliver enterprise-level infrastructure recovery initiatives across on-premise and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in server build coordination, Azure systems recovery, GCP recovery, and management of critical IT infrastructure restoration processes.
This role requires excellent project management capabilities, hands-on technical understanding of infrastructure components, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams during high-priority recovery operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Recovery & Restoration
- Lead and manage complete infrastructure recovery programs , ensuring timely restoration of systems after failures, outages, or planned recovery efforts.
- Develop recovery strategies and execute operational plans for enterprise environments.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure rapid and controlled recovery.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and ensure preventive measures are implemented.
2. Servers Build & Restoration Coordination
Manage end-to-end server building , configuration, and deployment for recovery and restoration.Coordinate with Windows / Linux administrators, storage teams, and network engineers for system rebuilds.Ensure accurate configuration, patching, security hardening, and performance-validation of rebuilt servers.Maintain detailed server build checklists and documentation.3. Azure Systems Recovery
Lead Azure cloud recovery operations , including VM restoration, backup recovery, disk replacement, and service reconfiguration.Work with Azure administrators on :Azure VM build & recoveryAzure Backup, Site Recovery (ASR), ARM templatesResource group rebuilds and service dependency mappingEnsure Azure environments align with disaster recovery (DR) standards and continuity plans.4. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Recovery
Manage GCP infrastructure recovery efforts including VM instances, storage buckets, networking, and managed services.Collaborate with GCP engineers for :Instance rebuildsSnapshot / backup restorationResource provisioningFirewall, IAM, and network rule recoveryValidate GCP environments for stability, performance, and compliance post-recovery.5. Project Management & Governance
Define project scope, timelines, milestones, resource plans, and delivery schedules.Ensure alignment with DR / BCP (Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Plans) policies.Track, monitor, and report on recovery progress with management dashboards and KPIs.Handle project risks, dependencies, change requests, and issue escalations effectively.Facilitate meetings and maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.6. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate documentation of recovery processes, system states, configurations, and recovery results.Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit guidelines, and security standards.Conduct post-recovery reviews and recommend improvements to strengthen resilience.Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
6–15 years of experience in Infrastructure / Cloud / IT Project Management .Strong understanding of on-prem infrastructure , server builds, virtualization, and storage concepts.Experience with Azure and GCP cloud recovery operations.Knowledge of IT disaster recovery processes, incident management, and infrastructure restoration.Technical Competencies
