  • Design, develop, and meticulously execute complex test cases and detailed test scripts for Workday solutions, encompassing new functionality, feature enhancements, and the semi-annual Workday updates across multiple tenants.
  • Lead and perform all phases of the testing lifecycle, including System Integration Testing (SIT), cross-functional Regression Testing, and coordinating formal User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Workday modules.
  • Utilize the Workday Test Automation Framework (or equivalent third-party tools like Kainos Smart) to build, execute, and maintain automated regression suites to guarantee configuration stability post-updates.
  • Document, log, and prioritize defects, bugs, and configuration errors using enterprise-grade issue tracking systems, driving technical resolution in collaboration with configuration specialists and integration teams.

Functional Analysis and Configuration Validation :

  • Analyze and translate complex HR and IT business requirements into precise technical functional specifications and measurable testable outcomes within the Workday environment.
  • Perform in-depth validation of core Workday configurations, including Calculated Fields, report elements, conditional routing, notifications, and integration setup related to various modules.
  • Ensure comprehensive testing coverage across a broad range of modules, including Workday HCM Core, Compensation, Absence Management, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting.
  • Provide expert Level 2 / 3 functional support during testing cycles and post-go-live, diagnosing and resolving issues related to configured objects, security access, and data integrity.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test results, configuration changes, and process flows, ensuring a comprehensive audit trail for quality assurance.
  • Project Collaboration and Metrics :

  • Collaborate effectively with HRIS, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, IT, integration specialists, and external consultants to define testing scope and manage dependencies.
  • Act as the quality gatekeeper for system releases, providing clear, concise, and technical status reporting, risk assessments, and sign-off recommendations to project leadership.
  • Provide regular status updates and deliver technical testing metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect leakage, and defect resolution rate) to project teams.
  • Qualifications :

  • Experience : Mandatory 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a Workday Functional Analyst, specialized Workday QA, or similar functional role.
  • Education : Mandatory Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills (Mandatory) :

  • Hands-on experience with testing tools and methodologies specifically tailored for Workday environments (e.g., Workday Test Framework, Smartsheet or third-party testing platforms).
  • Strong functional understanding of multiple Workday modules such as HCM, Compensation, Absence, Benefits, Talent, and Recruiting.
  • Core Skills : Exceptional analytical, organizational, and structured problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Methodology : Experience with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies is a plus.

    Preferred Skills :

  • Workday Certifications : Current or recent Workday Pro Certification in a core module (e.g., HCM, Absence) or equivalent advanced Workday training is highly desirable.
  • Data and Reporting : Advanced ability to create and validate Workday Custom Reports leveraging specialized Calculated Fields (e.g., Lookup Hierarchy, Evaluate Expression) to support test data verification and outcome analysis.

  • Integrations : Foundational knowledge of Workday integration types (EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio) and the ability to test integration results and error handling in conjunction with functional process testing.
  • Security Validation : Specific experience testing security configurations and auditing user permissions by testing the functionality of different Security Group roles and domain policy restrictions.
