Backend Intern

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Intern who is passionate about building scalable systems and solving complex technical problems. As part of our engineering team, you’ll get hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs, databases, and core backend services that power our product. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and contribute to real-world projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of backend systems, APIs, and services

Work with databases to store, manage, and optimize data efficiently

Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to build robust features

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Participate in debugging, testing, and improving system performance

Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and best practices

Requirements

Are available for an in-office internship for 6 months

Strong understanding of at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, or Go )

Knowledge of databases

Familiarity with REST APIs and basic networking concepts

Problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies

The FRND team operates six days a week, with every 1st and 3rd Saturday working
