Lead Backend Engineer - Golang & Node.js

This is a leadership role in our engineering team not just a cog in the wheel.

This is not a maintenance role. This is engineering leadershipowning the backend architecture of a global, privacy-first communication platform. Youll lead by example, guide a high-calibre team, and ensure our backend systems remain blazing-fast, rock-solid, and uncompromising on security.

Youll be at the intersection of code and leadershipmentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and setting engineering standards that define how a global product is built.

Whats the role ?

• Architect backend systems in NestJS and Golang to meet global scale and enterprise-grade performance.
• Drive design for microservices, real-time comms (WebSockets, WebRTC), and data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain CI / CD discipline.
• Mentor and upskill backend engineers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, DevOps, and product leaders.
• Own technical problem-solvinganticipate bottlenecks, make hard calls, and prevent tech debt from being parked for later.
• Manage task allocation, workflow discipline, and ensure smooth collaboration with frontend and DevOps.

The tech here is serious.

We work on socket-driven comms infrastructure, distributed control towers, multi-category encryption, root detection, app kill-switches, dynamic guest access, device-level lockout, and OOO / DND logic layered with smart whitelisting. This is not lightweight app dev. This is protocol-layer decision-making.
