Senior Technical Lead - DB2 DBA (12 / 10 / 2025)

Responsibilities

• Expert knowledge of DB2 version 11 / 12 on the z / OS platform
• Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively with others
• Represent the database team in application development projects with business analysts
• Promote DB2 best practices and new features to developers during application design and implementation
• Ability to mentor others, including junior DBAs and application developers, as well as clearly explain complex technical issues to business analysts and end users
• Proficiency with logical and physical data modeling design concepts
• Solid performance tuning experience in assisting developers with SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures, triggers and resolving concurrency issues
• Experience with table partitioning and maintaining very large databases
• Creation and maintenance of database objects (tables, columns, indexes, etc)
• Implement best practices for database backup and recovery strategies
• Experience in setting and scheduling of database maintenance utilities, with different restrictive levels tailored to application usage with the organization.
• Demonstrated knowledge of third party tools (Omegamon, IBM DB2 Admin, BMC, CDB, CA, etc)
• Ability to make decisions and demonstrate problem solving skills, analysis, prioritization and risk taking
• Ability to plan and execute a project to completion
• Demonstrate personal ownership of assignments
• Proactively raise and resolve issues
• Strong ability to multitask
