Role Summary :

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in API and Web Test Automation at Publicis Sapient, you'll be part of a cross-functional Agile team delivering enterprise-scale, high-performance digital commerce platforms for a Tier-1 global retail client.

You will define, architect, and implement the end-to end automation strategy across API and Web layers to ensure rapid, reliable, and high-quality releases at scale.

This role also involves managing a small team of automation engineers, driving technical excellence, and providing mentorship. You'll collaborate directly with client stakeholders, influencing quality engineering direction, ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving continuous improvement across delivery streams.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Java based automation frameworks, API validation, CI / CD integration, and a sound understanding of retail domain workflows such as cart management, pricing, promotions, and order orchestration.

Key Responsibilities :

Framework Architecture & Development :

• Architect and develop scalable, maintainable, and CI / CD-ready automation frameworks for Web UI and API testing using Java, Selenium, Playwright, and Rest Assured.
• Build custom utilities, reusable components, and service abstractions to automate complex end-to-end business flows.
• Establish Page Object Models (POMs), API helper layers, and test data management strategies for long-term framework sustainability.
• Ensure frameworks adhere to Publicis Sapient's engineering standards and align with client-specific DevOps environments.
