Preferred qualifications :
Advanced degree in Technical Communication, Instructional Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.Experience working with large-scale human evaluation platforms, crowdsourcing, or rater-based data collection programs.Experience designing tasks for complex domains.Experience with data analysis to inform instruction improvement.Familiarity with AI / ML concepts and data labeling processes.About the job
Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon. As a technical writer, your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, reading and writing example code, or updating help center queries and FAQs. Technical writers play a big part in the HITL team. They are a key link between researchers, developers, and taskers tying together many vital but disparate parts of the data annotation ecosystem.
You develop complex, in-depth communications for internal and external audiences and manage projects that involve coordinating multiple junior writers.
As a Technical Writer, you will lead complex, multidisciplinary programs. You will plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project life-cycle. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and you will keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.
Responsibilities
Lead the strategy and execution of task design and instruction creation for GenAI programs, establishing best practices and templates.Collaborate deeply with Product Areas to understand their data needs, define clear task requirements, and provide expert consultation on task design.Design, write, and iterate on high-quality rater instructions and guidelines that are clear, concise, and minimize ambiguity to ensure high-quality data output.Develop and implement an internal training program and comprehensive knowledge base on task design principles and best practices to empower Product Areas.Transform complex and often ambiguous technical information from engineers and researchers into effective rater task designs. Author, edit, and maintain a range of technical documents, including in-depth task design guides, instruction templates, and Quality Control (QC) rubrics. Act as a pilot user for new workflows, refining instructions based on practical application.
