About HP College of Law

HP College of Law, established under the Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions (HGPI), Kala Amb, is one of North India’s emerging centres for legal education. Affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) , the college offers B.A. LL.B (5 Years) and LL.B (3 Years) programs with a focus on academic excellence, legal research, and professional ethics.

We aim to nurture the next generation of legal professionals with a blend of theoretical foundation, courtroom exposure, and community engagement.

Position Overview

We invite applications for the position of Principal to lead the HP College of Law.

The ideal candidate will be an academic leader with proven administrative capabilities, a strong research orientation, and adherence to BCI and UGC guidelines.

The Principal will provide visionary leadership, ensure academic integrity, and foster an environment of learning, research, and student engagement.

Eligibility Criteria (As per Bar Council of India Norms)

• Must hold a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Must possess a Ph.D. in Law from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 15 years of teaching experience in a law college / university, including 5 years in an administrative role (such as Principal, Dean, or Head of Department).
• Must have a proven record of research and publications in reputed journals and active involvement in legal academia.
• Must meet eligibility requirements as per the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC) norms for the post of Principal / Professor.
